What this actually is

Honest about the work

Skilled, fixed-term construction work in Germany — bricklaying, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, steel-fixing and related trades — under the Kenya–Germany circular labour-mobility pathway. The first cohorts are open to experienced tradespeople with the required German language level.

Official & free

Selection is by the government, through official channels — and taking part is always free.

Official channels Report a fee

This is physically demanding, outdoor, fixed-term work tied to one season and one contract. It is not permanent employment and it is not a route to settling in Germany.

You are expected to return home when the season ends — that is how the programme is designed to keep working, season after season. The same worker can take part again in future cohorts as long as the agreement remains in place.

What you can expect

  • A fixed-term six-month contract with full labour rights and employer-paid placement.
  • Pre-selection run by the public employment authority, free of charge.
  • Final selection made by the German employer, together with the German and Kenyan authorities.
  • A commitment to return home at the end of the contract.

It is free. Anyone who asks you to pay is breaking the law.

No private recruitment agency may recruit for the German programme. Do not pay any agency or individual a fee, a deposit, or a “processing” charge. Collecting money from workers for this purpose is illegal.
